Event Notifier

Overview

The Event Notifier feature enables Chat360 to automatically send WhatsApp templates when specific events occur in external systems. By configuring a webhook, you can seamlessly integrate third-party platforms with Chat360 to push data and trigger template messages without manual intervention.

  • A. Setting Up the Event Notifier
    • 1. Navigate to Event Notifier
      • Go to Settings → Webhook → Event Notifier tab in the Chat360 Admin settings.

      2. Create a Webhook

      • Click Create Webhook.
      • Webhook Name: Enter a descriptive name (e.g., “OrderUpdates”).
      • URL: Copy the auto-generated webhook endpoint—this is where your third-party system will POST data.
      • Archived Day: Specify after how many days the related chat should auto-archive.
      • Add Variable: Click Add Variable for each data field you expect from the external system (e.g., order_id, customer_number, status).

      3. Configure Third-Party Platform
      • In your external system, configure the webhook URL you copied.
      • Ensure the payload keys exactly match the variable names defined in Chat360 (case-sensitive).
      • Test by sending a sample POST—Chat360 will log incoming webhook calls.

  • B. Mapping Templates to Events
    • 1. Open Trigger Settings
      • In the Event Notifier list, click the Settings icon under the Actions column for your webhook.

      2. Configure WhatsApp Template Trigger
      • Select Number: Choose the approved WhatsApp business number to send from.
      • Select Variable: Pick the variable that holds the recipient’s mobile number (include country code).
      • Select Template: Choose the pre-approved WhatsApp template to dispatch on event.
      • Template Parameters (optional): For each placeholder in your template, map a webhook variable or enter a default value.
      3. Save & Activate
      • Click Save to apply your trigger settings.
      • Repeat up to 10 webhooks per account to cover different event types.

  • Key Benefits
    • Automated Outreach: Send timely WhatsApp messages as soon as events are fired in your external system.
    • Seamless Integration: Fetch dynamic data via webhook variables and populate template parameters automatically.
    • Improved Engagement: Keep users informed in real time—whether it’s order updates, appointment reminders, or support alerts.

  • Usage
    • 1. Trigger Event
      • When the external system fires an event and POSTs to the Chat360 webhook, Chat360 will parse the payload, map variables, and instantly send the configured WhatsApp template.
      2. Monitor & Debug
      • Review webhook delivery logs under Settings → Webhook → Logs to confirm successful triggers or diagnose errors.
      3. Adjust & Scale
      • Edit variables or template mappings at any time via the Event Notifier interface to accommodate new data fields or message formats.

By leveraging Event Notifier, you ensure your users receive relevant, timely WhatsApp communications driven by real-world events—boosting engagement and satisfaction while reducing manual workload.
